Waves of Wonder (3)

Lucy swam to Natsu, but every time she did, another wave hit her again, and again. Lucy gave up. Was this the end? Was she actually going to let a stupid wave kill her and her best friend? No, she couldn't allow it, but she was too weak now she couldn't get up and she was very far away from her friends. She let her body sink into the ocean, and closed her eyes. God knows how many hours has she stayed in that position. Almost lifeless, like wood from a ship which had been shipwrecked.

Sometime later, who knows how long after it, she felt her body moving again. She was gaining all her energy back, when she suddenly felt something press her lips giving her oxygen. She never knew what that was but she ignored the thoughts. But who would have guessed it was none other than Natsu who was on top of her, giving her life-to-life and everyone beside her.

Natsu was crying as he was hitting her chest for fake respiration, and suddenly he did something Lucy never imagined him doing he was giving her mouth to mouth resuscitation and she was already awake.

"W-What a-are y-you d-doing Natsu!??" Lucy asked, while her face was as red as a tomato and she pushed Natsu off her.

"Luce! You're awake!" Natsu said happily as he hugged her.

"D-Don't ever do that!" Natsu whispered as he started brushing her hair with his hand, "DON'T EVER MAKE ME WORRY LIKE THAT!" Natsu yelled, crying while resting his head on her shoulder.

Lucy was shocked she woke up seeing Natsu on top of her, crying. Everyone beside her, she couldn't help but return the hug.

"Baka! Do you think I'd just sit down and watch you die you know me better than that Natsu!" Lucy said.

"L-Lucy.. T-Thank you," Natsu said not letting go. He thought he lost her and it was going to be his fault he didn't want to let go of her. He won't. He'd never let her go.

"N-Natsu..?" Lucy whispered, loud enough for him to hear.

"Yeah?" Natsu replied.

"I-I'm s-sorry," Lucy said, with a small tear threatening to escape her eye.

Natsu let go of Lucy and looked at her with confused eyes. He didn't know what she meant. He wiped his tears and promised he would ask her later but for now he knew there were others waiting to greet her. He couldn't keep her to himself, that would be selfish.

Happy flew to Lucy hugging her really tight.

"L-Lucy !!" Happy said tears coming down his eyes.

"There, there, I'm right here," Lucy said making circles around his back.

Lucy let go of Happy and ran to her friends. They all hugged her back and asked if she was alright but Lucy couldn't help but ask what happened after she and Natsu were separated in the ocean.

"I'll explain," Erza said "We saw you going to save Natsu, so we thought you were already going to get him but we then waited for a few minutes and you guys haven't returned yet. So we all went to find you both but it was kind of hard. However, since Gajeel and Wendy are dragon slayers, like Natsu, they sensed his scent and your scent so they told us. Gray and I went down to get you guys.

"We found Natsu and we found you so we pulled you guys up and took you both to the beach, everyone started waking Natsu and you," Gray continued, cutting Erza's explanation point, which, although wasn't the time, earned him a 'shut up or be punished' glare from her.


"Anyway," Erza cleared her throat, and continued, "Natsu woke up first and asked what happened. We told him how you went to save him but then we ended up saving you both. He saw your body next to everyone then he ran to you and tried to wake you up. We took a lot of time compared to Natsu. We kept checking your pulse to make sure your were still alive and you were, until we found no pulse we told Natsu and he just started pushing harder. We checked but there was still no pulse. Natsu then stood over you trying harder and tears were streaming down his cheeks then. Some of us thought we lost you but then Natsu gave you mouth to mouth recitation, then Gray reached and held your wrists and found a pulse."

"And you finally woke up," everyone cheered.

Lucy couldn't help but blush.. Natsu tried this hard and she didn't even save him. She just gave up. She remembered Natsu kissing her. She was supposed to be happy that the famous salamander of Fairy Tail kissed her but she wasn't, she didn't deserve that kiss.

"Lucy-san why are you crying?" Wendy asked.

"I'm just happy that you guys would do that for me," Lucy said. Yes she lied but that was one of the reasons why she was happy so that didn't count as a lie right? But she was also crying because she didn't try as hard as Natsu did.

Lucy looked around and spotted the pink hair of the dragon slayer, and made her way to Natsu. She hugged him tight and thanked him.

"N-Natsu Thank you," Lucy said blushing when she remembered he kissed her.

"Anytime Luce," Natsu said giving Lucy one of his huge, cheerful grins that Lucy loves the most.

"Luce I need to ask you-" Natsu was interrupted when the master made his way to Lucy which made Lucy then let go.

"My child, are you okay? I heard what happened," the master asked with concerned eyes.

"Yes Master," Lucy replied.

"Listen everyone! Go to Mirajane to get your food and at night we can all light up the lanterns."

"Yes!!" Everyone in the guild cheered and danced as they made their way to Mirajane.

"Mirajane do you need a little help?" Lucy asked looking at her white-haired friend with concerned eyes. Well obviously she was concerned everyone were in front of Mirajane waving their plates in front of her.

At just about the same time, Gray just took a plate and was headed over to Mirajane, until something bumped into him.

"Who the-" Gray began, but then was cut off.

"Save me Gray-sama!! Erza's mad at me!!" Juvia yelped.

"Eh? Whoa!!" Gray tried to balance himself as Juvia's sudden hug made him fall over her, but it looked very much like she was buried in the sand, "owww..." the both of them said. But Juvia didn't complain since she saw Erza coming over.

"Have you seen Juvia?" Erza asked as she spotted gray.

"oh, Juvia- ouch" Juvia pinched him, "I don't know, okay?" Gray got a little mad at Juvia.

"Alright, but just so you know, you lost. You also get punishment."

"WHAAAAAT!!!???" Gray couldn't believe it, not only had he won, and accompanied her to SAVE Natsu, HE was now getting the punishment!!

"Juvia," Was all Erza said.

Gray sighed as he tried to get off Juvia, "the next time you want help- OWW!! What was that for!!??"

"What?" juvia asked, popping out of the sand.

"Why did you pinch me again!?"

"It wasn't me!" juvia said like she was at court.

"then wha-" gray said just as he saw a small hermit crab hide in it's shell again, "Okay..." So it WASN'T Juvia's fangirl-ness that pinched his leg. He helped Juvia up, "next time you need help, be sure it's NOT because of Erza."

Juvia nodded, "Oh, and, um... Gray?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry I made you lose..."

"how?"

"I, uh... made the wave be easier for you to surf," she said as she started walking away, red as a cherry.

"You... WHAT!!?? YOU ARE THE REASON I LOST!!??" Gray said simultaneously as Erza yelled

"So, THERE you are Juvia! Gray, for hiding Juvia you get double. AND Juvia, you get your punishment, with Gray's second."

"At least I'll be with Gray," Juvia said to herself, but Gray obviously WASN'T satisfied, so he started chasing Juvia all over the beach, Erza on their tail.

"DAMN IT, NOW I HAVE DOUBLE BOTH BECAUSE OF YOU!!"

"IM SORRY GRAY-SAMAAAAAAA!!!! DONT KILL MEEEEE!!!!"

"YOU CONTINUE AND YOU'LL GET ANOTHER PUNISHMENT!!"

But no one listened to Erza, since Juvia wanted to run away from gray for the first time EVER, and Gray wanted to strangle Juvia.

Natsu watched the chase laughing until he heard Lucy.

"OI! EVERYONE STAND IN A LINE!" she screamed at the others making them stand in a line. Lucy was even scarier than Erza sometimes. Mirajane gave Lucy an apron and Lucy put it on and started serving the guild food.

Natsu came as he asked Lucy for more food than the rest.

"Comon' Luce can't you just give me a little more than the rest?" Natsu said as he whispered to Lucy looking at her giving her his puppy dog face.

"No I can't, that would be unfair" Natsu Lucy said as she looked again at his puppy dog face.

"Pleasee??" Natsu said looking at her giving her his puppy dog face.

"Fine but if you tell anyone your going to get it!" Lucy said as she put more food for Natsu.

"YAYY!! THANKS LUCE!" Natsu said as he smiled.

"Hai Hai just go!" Lucy said.

Natsu left and now Mirajane and Lucy finished serving everyone and they started eating, Mirajane and natsu enjoying the chase in which Erza had given up in.

Lucy took her meal and sat near the shore a lone she wanted to think for a while. She was sad that she never got to save Natsu like he did she just gave up quick so she wanted to be alone.

Natsu saw Lucy alone, shivering from the slight breeze. Why was she sad? Shouldn't she be happy about tonight? Natsu ignored Juvia's & Gray's yelling at each other while still running, and went to Lucy's direction and sat next to her.

"Luce... You okay?" Natsu asked looking at her with concerned eyes.

"Natsu, why did you pick me to be in team Natsu?" Lucy asked looking at his eyes.
Natsu was shocked. Why was she asking him this?

"Because your pretty nice, and you're a weirdo," Natsu joked around with the last part, trying to make her laugh.

"Oh, I see..." Lucy said, as she turned away to look at the now calming waves.

Natsu was surprised, did he say something wrong?

"Natsu can I ask you something?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah, sure, anything!" Natsu replied. He wanted to comfort his friend no matter what it took now.

"Am I weak?" Lucy questioned, looking at him like she was about to burst again.
